Overview

“Durchschaut” is a single-player puzzle game (package name de.timobritz.durchschaut). The app contains no advertising, no tracking and no analytics tools. There is no user account, and I run no servers of my own for this app. I receive no game data.

Data on your device

The app stores locally on your device: progress (oracles beaten, stars, best scores), statistics on how you play (for example how often you switched sides), daily oracle results and the settings for language, sound and vibration. I cannot see this data. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, it is removed from the device.

Google backup. If you have enabled device backup in the Android settings, Android transfers this data to your Google account. The backup is done by the operating system, not by the app, and is subject to Google's privacy policy. You can switch it off in the Android settings.

Friend code and sharing

After a game the app can create a code or a result line. The code contains only the doors of the game and your picks, no personal details. It is only passed on if you send it yourself via your device's share menu or the clipboard. The app you choose, such as a messenger, is governed by its own terms.

Full version purchase

The app is free. Once offered in the app, a full version can optionally be bought as a one-time in-app purchase. Payment is handled by Google Play; I receive no payment data such as account or card numbers.

To verify and restore the purchase I use the service RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., 4 Embarcadero Center, San Francisco, CA 94111, USA). Once the purchase is offered, the app sends a randomly generated anonymous ID, the Google Play receipt and the product ID to RevenueCat at start-up and on purchase. The ID is not linked to any name or account. Its sole purpose is to unlock the purchased full version and restore it after reinstalling. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the purchase contract). Transfers to the USA rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Details in the RevenueCat privacy policy.

Permissions

The app uses your device's vibration for short feedback while playing. It needs internet access only for the full version purchase; the game itself runs offline. No other permissions, such as location, camera, microphone or contacts, are requested.

Google services

When you download the app via Google Play, Google processes data under its own terms. I have no influence on this. Details are in Google's privacy policy.

Children

The app collects no data for advertising and builds no profiles. The game is not gambling: there are no stakes and no winnings of monetary value.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Please send requests about purchase data to the address above; I will forward them to RevenueCat.

Changes

If data processing changes, for example through new features, I will update this policy beforehand and change the date above.
