Overview

“Squishly” is a single-player skill game. The app contains no advertising, no tracking and no analytics tools. I myself do not collect or store any personal data on servers of my own – I do not operate any servers of my own for this app.

Data that stays on your device

The following data is stored locally on your device and is not read out or transmitted by me:

• Game progress: points, best scores, coins, unlocked characters, worlds, costumes and upgrades
• Settings: controls, sound, graphics quality
• The player name you choose yourself for the local leaderboard
• Progress in missions and daily challenges

Without signing in to Google Play Games, this data is deleted completely when you uninstall the app. In addition, you can reset characters, worlds and upgrades in the game under “Options → Reset coin purchases”; records, achievements and content bought with real money are retained.

Leaderboard and cloud backup (Google Play Games Services)

The app optionally offers a worldwide leaderboard and a cloud backup of the game progress via Google Play Games Services. Both are voluntary and are only used if you sign in with your Google Play Games account.

For the leaderboard, your score and your Play Games profile name are transmitted to Google and stored there so that your result appears in the ranking. For the cloud backup, your game progress (progress, unlocked content, settings) is stored as a saved game in your Google account so that it can be restored after a reinstallation or on another device. Google is the controller for this processing. I do not receive any additional personal data about you in the process. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by signing in and can withdraw at any time by signing out in the Play Games settings. You can delete saved games in the Google Play Games settings.

Without signing in, the game works in full – you then only see your local leaderboard, and the game progress is stored on the device alone.

Purchases

The app itself is free. Optional in-app purchases (additional characters, perks, coin packs) are handled entirely via Google Play . The seller is Google Commerce Limited and payment is processed by Google; I receive no payment data such as account numbers or credit card details. Which purchases you have made is additionally recorded locally on your device so that the content remains unlocked.

Purchase processing via RevenueCat

For the technical verification and management of in-app purchases, I use the service RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., 1032 E Brandon Blvd #3003, Brandon, FL 33511, USA) as a processor. When you make a purchase or restore purchases, the Google Play purchase receipt, the purchased product ID, a randomly generated pseudonymous user ID and technical information such as IP address, device type and operating system are transmitted to RevenueCat. The ID is assigned automatically by the app and cannot be linked to a name. I transmit no name, no e-mail address and no payment data.

The sole purpose is to unlock purchased content and to be able to restore it after a reinstallation. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the purchase contract). The transfer to the USA takes place on the basis of the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details: RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

Google services

For purchases and the leaderboard, services of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) are used. Their use is governed by Google’s privacy policy.

Children

The app is suitable for all age groups. No data is collected for advertising purposes and no profiles are created. Persons under 16 can only give consent to the leaderboard and cloud backup (signing in to Google Play Games) with the approval of their parents.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. As I do not store any personal data myself, please address requests concerning data processed via Play Games directly to Google. Changes

If the app is extended with features that process further data, I will update this policy and adjust the date above.
